Soccer Equipment
Soccer equipment is necessary to play the sport. Soccer is a light equipment sport in the grand scheme of things. It’s certainly not polo, where you have to show up with your own horse just to play. Soccer isn’t even football, with a large assortment of pads and a spandex uniform that mostly covers them. No, soccer ranks up there with track and basketball among the easiest sports to show up and play.
All you really need in terms of soccer equipment is a uniform, shin guards, and cleats. If you’re in competitive play they usually require that shin guards be covered by socks. But that’s it, no horses, no fireworks, no pads. This simplicity is at the heart of what makes soccer such a popular sport worldwide. Kids can play it barefoot in a dirt field just as easily as on a grass field fully outfitted.
However, if you want to go above and beyond for your soccer equipment, it isn’t difficult to achieve. In addition to your uniform cleats and shin guards, pick up a ball, a water bottle, and a duffle bag to carry it all in. If you want to be excessively complete about it you can pick up a set of warm-ups as well.
