Soccer Jerseys
Soccer jerseys may not seem like a huge sales item in the United States; but the fact is they are one of the top selling items in sports worldwide. The fact is that among the world, the US is among the most disinterested countries where soccer is concerned. Anywhere else, a national soccer team is a huge deal; here it rouses about as much interest as a polo team.
Soccer jerseys are made of lightweight but abrasion resistant material. Unlike many professional sports jerseys in America, soccer jerseys are often fairly simple in design. They take a minimalist approach that features the team color (but possibly nothing else) for instance the famous Brazilian national team’s uniform is a simple gold with green trim on the hem, collar, and ends of the sleeves. This is the standard, rather than the exception in soccer.
This emphasis on simplicity is a direct result of the way the game is played. Soccer jerseys, like the game, don’t need to be overly complicated to be beautiful. The simplicity of well placed passes, good footwork, and team coordination makes the game a pleasure to watch. When they designed the jerseys, designers tried to encapsulate this simple beauty.
